- Submit you site: Your site more than likely will not be listed
without someone submitting it to the hundreds of search engines available.
- Maximize your listing: There are no sure fire ways of getting the top
listings other than paying attention to the known elements that search engine
crawlers use when indexing a site. We can help you with a strategy for
optimization of your site for search engines utilizing all of the known
methods and some not so known methods to increase your site traffic.
Some of the know criteria are:
- Page title: The page title is encoded into the HTML document at
the top of HTML code using the "<title>This is the title</title>" code.
Whatever text is placed in this tag is shown in the bar at the top of your
browser window.
- Frequency of key words: Many search engines also assume that if a
specific word is mentioned in the top several lines of a site, then there is
a good chance the page is relevant to a searcher.
- Popularity: This attribute has to do with how many links there are to
your site from others and visa versa.
- Meta tags: This tags are not used by all search engines but should
always be included.
- Track your results: Always keep tabs on your rankings. Fine tuning of the
keywords etc. is mandatory for great results
- Consider "Pay for Play" services: Some search engines allow you to buy
positioning. This makes allot of sense if the key words are selected carefully
and you product is relevant.
